Poland's Anita Wlodarczyk became the first female athlete in history to win three Olympic gold medals in the final of the hammer throw events after winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics today.
Wlodarczyk took the first with a throw of 78.48 meters, leaving the silver for China's Wang Cheng, while the bronze went to the other Polish Malwina Kopron.
Flodarczyk became the first female shooter to exceed 80 meters and was the best in the qualifying round with 76.99 meters to win her third Olympic title in a row after the gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
