Against FC Unterföhring, the Plabst men delivered a great game and did not win undeserved 3-0 (0-0).
The question was how much the win against TSV Grünwald would be worth.
A lot, was the answer - because against FC Unterföhring, armed with numerous Bayern league players, after all, one of the title contenders in the Southeast regional league - the Lerchenfelder continued where they left off on Friday evening.
“That was Grünwald 2.0 today,” summed up coach Alex Plabst. And he wasn't so wrong, and yet the match was once again an improvement. For various reasons.
Initially, the home side started with a similar tactical orientation. Freising defended cleverly, but Freising was also waiting for his chances. Although Unterföhring remained terrifyingly pale, Eintracht created its possibilities even better. During the first 45 minutes, which were not very explosive, the home side were the much more active team. While the FCU could not book a significant chance, the SEF should have already led clearly. A first warning shot by Selim Magat went far past (24th), before Andi Manhart almost negligently missed it (25th). Bitter then: Shortly before the break, another Manhart shot hit the crossbar (39th), before Mayr also missed after a corner (40th).
After the change, Unterföhring pushed for the lead. That prevented either his own inability or Freising's keeper Patrick Negele, who reacted excellently twice (58./64.). Then the SEF machinery started running at full speed, Freising dared a little more and was promptly rewarded: Selim Magat had played a clever pass to Manhart, who was over to the left and flicked the leather from the corner of the penalty area over FC keeper Sebastian Fritz into the right corner of the cross ( 78.). That was great, that was cheeky from the young striker. And that sat at Unterföhring, but also at SEF, which now wanted more. And made the decision just three minutes later. Andi Hohlenburger, who came on after an hour for the longed-for comeback, had played his way through to the baseline, the subsequent cross pushed youngster Sebastian Niedermayer into the goal. (81.) That went way too fast for Unterföhring. And Freising was far from having enough, shortly before the final whistle, the home side made it 3-0. Negele had cleverly fended off in the penalty area, Freising countered, and after a fine Zanker pass, Hohlburger closed bone dry in front of Fritz (88th).
Afterwards, Plabst praised the disciplined performance of his team, they did not allow themselves to be dissuaded. “My team did a great tactical job again and was very hardworking.” So hard-working that there are now six points on the account. Counters that the SEF had speculated on at the start of the season, but which were not necessarily to be expected in terms of size.
