The French Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz, third and bronze medalists, filed a protest against the Polish boat, second in the general classification.
The French accused the British of having stopped their race after the third buoy, assured of being gold medalists, but thus letting the Poles pass in front of the French duo, who finally took the silver medal.
The French women hoped to finally recover the silver in 470. Their claim was rejected, Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz will therefore have to be satisfied with the bronze.
