Third medal in sailing for the French delegation… And it's bronze. In 470, the duo Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz did not keep their 2nd place in the Medal Race but will nonetheless seek a bronze medal. After the first ten races, the two Frenchmen were in 2nd position with 42 points, and had to leave with a medal around their neck, except for a massacre during the last race for the medal. Result, a 6th place, two positions behind the Poles, synonymous with bronze charm. This is the 25th medal for France at the Tokyo Olympics. Attention, the French could possibly file a complaint following a questionable movement of the Polish tandem.

It was impossible to find the British, far ahead in the standings.
Behind, Slovenia, which had to win to hope to recover a place on the podium, never existed in this last race.
On the other hand, the match for 2nd place took place with Poland.
The Skrzypulec / Ogar tandem has always been ahead of the French duo and managed to insert the British boat on the very last tack to recover the money, in the face and the beard of the French women.
The Poles would have potentially benefited from the help of the British to gain the determining position for the money.
Lecointre and Retornaz can leave all the same with a smile, and bronze.
