Ugandan Biruth Shimotai won the women's 3000m steeplechase gold medal in the athletics competitions at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Shimotai set a Ugandan record as she finished the race in nine minutes 1.45 seconds to win the gold, while the American Frerichs won the silver medal in nine minutes 4.79 seconds.
Kenyan Heaven Keene won the bronze with a time of 9 minutes 5.39 seconds.
