Tokyo - Damian Warner is the new king of athletes!
In the decathlon at the Olympics * there was no herb against the 31-year-old Canadian.
With 9018 points, Warner set a new Olympic record.
"That's crazy.
Since I was a child, I've dreamed of winning a gold medal at the Olympics, ”he said exhausted after the final 1,500-meter run.
During the two-day competition, the eyes of the audience kept wandering to one of Warner's competitors: Adam Sebastian Helcelet from the Czech Republic.

The 29-year-old had nothing to do with the medals *, but he impressed with his gigantic mustache, which he apparently let grow especially for the big appearance at the Olympics.

At the end of the day, Helcelet finished 16th, and for the fans he was the winner of the hearts.
"He has already earned gold for Schnubbi," writes a user on Twitter.
"The Schnauzer is a work of art", gives him a second right.

Helcelet noticed that his facial hair was very popular and revealed the secret.
“In 2018 our country celebrated its 100th anniversary as a republic.
So I wanted to grow my mustache the way people used to wear it, ”he explained.
The decathlete succeeded in time travel - but it had its price.
"My friends hate him, but I love him!" He jokes.

For the German decathletes, the games were disappointing.
World champion and medal favorite Niklas Kaul injured himself in the 400-meter run and had to abandon the competition.
Seasoned Kai Kazmirek finished 14th with 8126 points.
In the women's heptathlon, Carolin Schäfer made it into the top ten and came in seventh.
The swimmers had reason to cheer: Florian Wellbrock triumphed in an extreme discipline.
There was also excitement in Tokyo about a chauffeur who committed a hit-and-run.
