After another signing campaign, the Lakers know many commentators are waiting for them around the corner.
One of the main criticisms leveled at the team from LA in recent days following the addition of veteran players like Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Trevor Packing, Wayne Ellington and Kenneth Bizemore, is that it is a team that is too old.
Currently the average age of the Lakers roster is 32.4, making them the oldest team in the league and one of the oldest teams ever.
It does not bother LeBron James at all.
"Keep talking about my team, our age, the form of the game, the injuries on the way. Keep claiming the climax is behind us. Do me a favor, and I really mean it - keep up with this narrative even when the season starts. That's all I can ask for!"

While the Lakers still have Anthony Davis, who is set to be at his peak at 28, he has also added relatively young players such as Malik Monk (23) and Kendrick Nan (26), alongside signing 20-year-old Shilon Horton Tucker on a new contract.
But criticism of staff building continues, even from the direction of past players. One of them is Charles Barkley, who claims that LeBron's armament and the continuous star-hunting of his teams are undermining his legacy and historical status.
"The reason I put Michael and Kobe long before LeBron in the all-time rankings is because LeBron has armed his teams with stars. Let's be realistic," Barkley said. "Yannis Antokompo and Dirk Nowitzki took championships like Michael took - they went through all the difficulties along the way, stayed on the same team, suffered blow after blow, until they won the ring. Difficulties and losses are part of players' legacy. LeBron arranged shortcuts for himself while Michael fought tooth and nail for Any championship,After working hard every summer to get better. "
