The Italian national team blew up a heavy-caliber surprise at the Olympic Games, currently being held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, on Friday, by winning the men's 4x100m relay gold.
The Italian team finished the race with a time of 37.50 seconds, one percent ahead of the British team, which only won the silver medal.
The bronze medal went to Canada, led by its star sprinter Andre de Grasse, who held the gold in the 200 meters and the bronze in the 100 meters, while Jamaica, the defending champion in the last two editions, finished fifth in the absence of the legend Usain Bolt.
