The first women's climbing gold at the Tokyo Olympics goes to Slovenia

Tokyo, SANA-Slovenian Janja Garnbet won the gold medal in the women's individual climbing competition at the Olympics

Slovenian Janja Garnbet won the women's singles climbing gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first to win this medal.

According to Sport, 22-year-old Garnbet won the final round of the wall climbing competition, ahead of the rest of the competitions, while Japan's Nonaka Miho won the silver and the bronze medal went to her compatriot Akio Noguchi.

Climbing is one of 4 sports that made its first appearance in the Olympics through the Tokyo Games, where Spain's Alberto Guinness won the gold medal for the men's category on Thursday.
