“Saint Boy” really doesn't live up to its name.
The horse engaged in the modern pentathlon brought hell to two competitors in the discipline, including the first in the provisional classification Annika Schleu.
After scoring a zero point for Russia's Gulnaz Gubaydullina, Saint Boy tackled the German leading overall and favorite for the gold medal at the Olympics.
Indomitable, the horse ended up making Schleu cry during his entire run.
🐎 🇩🇪 Largely at the head of the modern pentathlon, Annika Schleu is eliminated after the show jumping and the refusal to jump from her drawn horse Saint Boy.
Terrible disappointment!

In a race where you draw your horse at random before starting, Annika Schleu quickly understood that it was going to be complicated.
Stuck in the starting area with a stationary horse and impossible to put in the running order, the leader of the classification was already in tears even before having started her heat.
A few tens of seconds later, Saint Boy finally decided to start his race.
One of the images of the Olympics
An ideal start to the course with 4 perfect jumps which almost put the German back on track.
A first refusal and 7 penalty points began to make people fear the worst.
The rest is overwhelmingly sad.
A multiplication of refusals, the penalty points that accumulate (more than 60 at the end of the run) and a zero point, synonymous with a medal to forget for Schleu.
The big favorite will start with almost 4 minutes and 30 seconds behind the new Russian leader Batashova.
The German quickly understood this during the race.
Schleu, inconsolable, continued to cry bitterly on his mount for several minutes.
Surely one of the saddest images of these Olympic Games.
