The dream continues.
After the men's basketball, handball and volleyball teams all qualified for the Olympic final on Thursday, our Handball Bleues imitated them on Friday morning by defeating Sweden (29-25) in the semi-final.
Long hung, tense and stressful, the match only settled in the last minutes.
Led by a goal ten minutes from the end (21-20), the Blue found the offensive solutions, thanks in particular to an exceptional Grace Zaadi, author of 7 goals, but also a very effective Pauletta Foppa at the pivot ( 5/5).
Qualified for the second Olympic final in a row, Olivier Krumbohlz's players will face either Norway or Russia (their 2016 executioner) for the gold medal on Sunday evening.
