Former Bundesliga referee Bibiana Steinhaus-Webb is leaving the German Football Association and will work in England in the future.

The DFB announced on Monday.

In the homeland of her husband Howard Webb, she will in future take on a special area of responsibility for the PGMOL referees' association as "Women's Select Group Director".

"I'm looking forward to the great opportunity to share my diverse experiences as a referee with the referees in England and to help them reach their full potential," said Steinhaus-Webb.

Steinhaus-Webb praised the requirements of the new location: "With the current framework conditions, women's football in England sets completely new standards." In the English women's football league, a new TV contract recently provided even better financial opportunities to advance the league's development .

Pioneer in Germany

She got support from the DFB.

Lutz Michael Fröhlich sees her move as a career milestone.

“This is a great challenge for Bibiana.

We will stay in touch and continue the trusting exchange, «said the sporting director of the elite referees.

Steinhaus-Webb was the first woman in the Bundesliga to lead 23 games in the top German division from 2017 to 2020.

In autumn 2020 she ended her national and international career as a referee on the pitch, but continued to work as a video assistant.
