Thrilling matches, dry conditions and satisfied guests - the TC Oberding performance class tournament was a complete success from the organizers' point of view.

"It was a very, very harmonious tournament," said TCO sports manager and tournament director Fabian Gabb, delighted with the success.

Oberding - Despite the great rush, the matches in the evening had ended a long way before the scheduled time. “There were no complaints regarding waiting time or the like, and no injuries, only muscle hardening from the exertion. It went really well because the weather was perfect, ”said Gabb happily. In addition, the 38 participants - two had canceled at short notice after the draw so that substitute matches had to be planned - offered many exciting games.

The women’s individual competition took place without the county’s participation. The highlight was the intense duel between the twin sisters Annabelle (LK 9.4) and Ludivine Pöhnl (8.3) from TC Grün-Weiß Graefelfing. The male participants had traveled far, one from Dinkelsbühl, another from Sonthofen. Christoph Leiner (18.6) visited a friend in the area and played two LK tournaments on Saturday and Sunday. The U 18 juniors Leopold Homberg (TC RW Freising / 13.4) and Marvin Gök (MTTC Iphitos / 14.4), who had to tackle a round early in the morning at the big Erdinger youth tournament (we reported), were challenged three times because, to their own surprise, they had won the opening round there the day before. After leaving Erding, they then fought twice in the TCO tournament for LK points, once even in a direct duel.

However, Stephane Rege (TC Ismaning / 6.5) and Andreas Lederer (TC Sportpark Deisenhofen / 6.1) offered the top-class confrontation in the 6: 7 and 6: 7 thriller.

For the local heroes, however, there was little to gain.

Thomas Graf from the organizer TCO (LK 12.8) won just as little as Florian Heilmeier (SV Walpertskirchen / 15.0) and Thomas Niederhammer (TC Taufkirchen / 8.1).

The latter had to admit defeat to Sebastian Wärthl (TC Erding / 9.5) clearly in two sets (1: 6, 2: 6).

The Erdinger busily collected points in Oberding, because his second LK match against Niklas Bernwieser (SV Reitmehring / 10.0) he clearly won 6: 3 and 6: 2.

The local players can do better at the second edition of the performance class tournament in Oberding. This takes place for women and men on Saturday, September 25th. The registration phase is already running.
