The Italian national team, the Euro 2020 champion, and the Argentine national team, the Copa America champion, joined the list of the top ten ranked players in the International Football Association (FIFA) classification issued today, as it advanced to fifth place, one place ahead of the England team, the runner-up for Euro 2020.
Belgium topped the rankings despite its exit from the European Nations Cup quarter-finals, while Brazil came second despite losing to Argentina in the Copa America final. France came in third, followed by England in fourth and Italy in fifth.
Argentina ranked sixth, Spain ranked seventh, Portugal ranked eighth, Mexico ranked ninth, and America ranked tenth, as it advanced ten places in the classification after winning the Gold Cup, but remained behind Mexico, the runners-up of the continental championship.
