The heads of the Premier League teams met yesterday (Wednesday) with the league director at a long board meeting whose main purpose was to discuss possible scenarios related to the league games that are due to open soon in light of the dramatic increase in corona morbidity in the country.

Almost all the group leaders came to the meeting.

Maccabi Haifa president Yaakov Shachar was a part of him in Zoom.

The teams have adopted back to a rigid outline of maintaining strict procedures in stadiums and training facilities.

Chairman Erez Kalfon made it clear that the principal will act with all her might so that the games do not stop and that the league is played from the beginning and without delays.

Therefore, it was clarified to the groups that if corona outbreaks are discovered in the clubs, the activity is not resident, but by order of the Ministry of Health.

For the teams, the decision was sharpened that as long as there are 13 qualified players in the team, its game will take place exactly as previously approved by the UEFA.

As at the height of the corona period and even before vaccinations, many people will be banned from being on the field during the game and whoever is there will be required to wear a mask.

Only the playing players and the coach will be allowed to walk around the field without a mask.

The important thing for the teams and the administration is to avoid returning to a situation where the audience will be banned from being in the stands.

This will be a sector that will take the groups and the principal back more than a year, and once again all parties will have to contact the Ministry of Finance to establish a new safety net.

"We do not want to get to this day when we have to run after the country to take care of a safety net," one of those present at the hearing said last night.

"Football is played in open stadiums in the open air, entry is subject to a green sign for the vaccinated and recovering and you can of course take care of the spaces in the stands. Everything must be done not to go back to the days of the safety net. The crowd should be present on the pitches."
