FC St. Pauli won the Hamburg derby in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Against Hamburger SV, the district club managed a 3: 2 (1: 1).

This means that St. Pauli will even take the lead in the second division for the time being, but can still be overtaken by other clubs at the weekend.

In the parallel game, Schalke missed a win in a 1: 1 (1: 0) against Erzgebirge Aue.

The city derbies have regularly turned into a farce for HSV in recent years, three of the four previous games were lost. This time a defeat became apparent early on, from the start St. Pauli provoked early ball wins. Guido Burgstaller (21st) and Jakov Medic (23rd) missed the first big chances before Becker pushed in a cross from close range with his knee (28th). The HSV disappointed for long stretches, but came to an equalizer in the 43rd minute after David Kinsombi had pushed through strongly for Bakery Jatta. Jatta put across, Sonny Kittel shot one.

In the second half, the HSV was then countered. Simon Makienok pushed into the penalty area from the left and finished in the near corner (56th), goalkeeper Daniel Heuer-Fernandes didn't look good. The double strike by Makienok was led by Medic in midfield, who first won the ball and then played an outstanding pass (59th). Robert Glatzel's subsequent goal made the game exciting again (77th), but HSV couldn't manage more.

A defeat, a win, a draw: the Schalke restart in the second division is a difficult one, as was also shown against the Erzgebirge Aue.

In Gelsenkirchen, Schalke played for a long time, missed the goal through Yaroslav Mikhailov (21st), but then took the lead through Dominick Drexler after the actual striker Simon Terodde had cleverly presented (32nd).

As a result, Schalke missed the second goal and came under pressure in the second half.

Schalke's keeper Ralf Fährmann prevented the goal with a class parade against Omar Sijarić (77th), against Sascha Härtel Fährmann had no chance shortly before the end (86th).
