Summary: Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bayern Munich 1: 1 (Sport 1)
About a month and a half after the 2020/21 season in the Bundesliga closed, the 2021/22 season started tonight (Friday) with a 1: 1 draw between Borussia Mönchengladbach and the champions Bayern Munich.
On Saturday Borussia Dortmund will host Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen will go to the capital and play against Union Berlin and Hoffenheim and Mons Dabour will play away against Augsburg.

Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bayern Munich 1: 1
The host with a new coach in the form of Eddie Hooter, started the game with tremendous momentum and she took the lead after only ten minutes.
Lars Stindel slipped and left the ball to Alasan Fla, who was left free in front of Manuel Neuer and kicked powerfully into the net.
The guest got into things thanks to a number of situations by Robert Lewandowski, and in the 42nd minute the foals learned firsthand that the Polish scorer would eventually stop missing.
The striker took advantage of the little space he had and subdued Jan Sommer on the road to equality.
In the second half the pace slowed, and although Mönchengladbach reached a number of chances, they failed to find the winning goal that would stun the Bavarians.
The reigning champion may be opening a season with just one point, but she can look at the half-full glass: after losing the last two seasons at Borussia Park, this time at least she is not coming out empty-handed.

Borussia Dortmund - Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 19:30, Sport 3)
After winning the trophy last season and losing Gideon Sancho in the transfer window, Borussia Dortmund are opening a new season with a lot of question marks and uncertainty. Is she able to run for the championship against Bayern Munich, which currently looks very vulnerable? Does Dortmund, who themselves weakened when they lost Sancho, have the staff to do that? The yellow-blacks, like all top teams in Germany, changed coaches in the summer and Marco Rosa came on in place of Edin Trezic who himself was a temporary appointment after the dismissal of Lucian Faber. Frankfurt is also coming after significant changes in the summer. Oliver Glazner replaced Eddie Hooter as coach and leading scorer Andre Silva moved to R.B. Leipzig. The last time Frankfurt came to Dortmund they won there 1: 2 in what seemed at the time to be a loss that would end Dortmund's Champions League story before it made a comeback and managed to finish in the top 4.
By the way, if we look at the season opening games of the teams from recent years, we are probably going towards a draw.
Borussia Dortmund have won their last six opening games of the season, while Frankfurt have not lost in the opening game five years in a row.
The host will be missing a lot of players including Julian Brandt and Thomas Monier who have been infected with Corona, said Jan, Rafael Greiro and Mats Hummels and Dan Axel Zagado will also be absent again.
Will open in the lineup?

Augsburg - Hoffenheim (Saturday, 4:30 p.m., Sports 3)
Mons Dabour went through a season full of ups and downs in 2020/21, but he started the current season well when he won the cup against Victoria Cologne and helped Hoffenheim get through a round.
Now Hoffenheim hopes to open the season in the league in a positive way with a not easy away game in Augsburg and when it is without a number of very significant players, including Elas Babo, in what may pave the way for Dabour to the squad.
More games (Saturday, 16:30):
Union Berlin - Bayer Leverkusen
Arminia Bielefeld - Freiburg
Stuttgart - Groiter Firth
Wolfsburg - Bochum
