It will be Borussia Dortmund's next attempt to win the Bundesliga title again ten years after the last championship.

Bayern were ahead of them nine times in a row, the season started in the tenth attempt at least once: thanks to a gala of offensive players Erling Haaland and Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 (3-1).

Haaland scored one goal and prepared two more goals, Reus and Thorgan Hazard had already shot out the lead at the break, in the meantime Eintracht had equalized 1-1 with an own goal by Felix Passlack.

Giovanni Reyna scored 4-1 in the second half, while Haaland finished the game in the 71st minute.

Frankfurt's new signing Jens Petter Hauge shortened to 5: 2.

At his Bundesliga premiere in Dortmund, Dortmund coach Marco Rose had to do without Mats Hummels, Emre Can and Raphael Guerrero, which did not affect the momentum of the team right from the start.

The hosts, spurred on by 25,000 spectators, put pressure on from the first minute, Eintracht hardly had time to recover.

Just when Oliver Glasner's team believed the initial offensive had survived, they conceded the 0: 1 in the 23rd minute.

A slight loss of the ball in midfield led to a quick counterattack via Hazard and Haaland, and Reus skilfully closed.

The Frankfurt equalizer was all the more surprising five minutes later - and it was almost logical that no Eintracht player scored the goal.

Passlack wanted to clear the edge of the penalty area and pushed the ball into the far corner, Dortmund's new goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was caught on the wrong foot.

Frankfurt joy only lasted for a short time

The joy of the guests lasted only for a short time, again it was Haaland who pushed the ball into the danger zone and still had a good eye for Hazard.

With a full shot from close range, he brought BVB back into the lead (32nd minute).

After that, Haaland no longer wanted to let the others score goals, with a long ball from his own penalty area he reacted with more presence of mind than his opponent Stefan Ilsanker, put the ball into the barrel himself and closed past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp to make it 3-1 in the 34th. Minute off.

It could have been worse before the break, Reus outwitted Trapp, who had unluckily fended off a ball forward, to the alleged 4: 1, but the ball had already crossed the goal line.

At the beginning of the second half, the guests first drew attention after Glasner had made three changes.

The new striker Rafael Borré narrowly failed with a header from the strongly reacting goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

After that, however, things quickly went in the other direction: Haaland and Jude Bellingham missed the early 4-1.

Reyna then delivered that in the 57th minute, who scored after a penalty area combination with, of course, Haaland and Reus for the fourth Dortmund goal.

The game was over.

And Haaland was allowed to write the last BVB chapter: After a lengthy video review, his goal was credited to 5: 1.

The fact that Jens Petter Hauge, another Norwegian, scored the second goal in Frankfurt (85th) can also be interpreted as an homage to Haaland.
