After a financial agreement with Gerard Piqué, Memphis Depay will be well registered in La Liga and could play as of this Sunday with FC Ba

End of the soap opera and relief for Memphis Depay.

Arrived this summer in Catalonia after four seasons spent in Lyon, he was finally registered in La Liga by FC Barcelona.

The Dutchman could therefore play this Sunday, against Real Sociedad, on the first day of the Spanish championship.

The file dragged on so far, weighed down by the very complicated economic context within the Blaugrana club, which has a debt of 900 million euros, despite the recent departure of Lionel Messi from PSG.

It was finally an agreement concluded with Gerard Pique that made it possible to unblock the situation, the vice-captain accepting a significant drop in his salary, as Barça announced in a press release.

"The club continues to work with two of the four captains such as Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba to achieve a salary adjustment to the situation currently facing the entity", it is also specified.

Negotiations necessary because, if the agreement with Pique allows the club to register in Liga Depay, Eric Garcia and Rey Manaj, nothing has yet been announced for Sergio Agüero.

While waiting for “Kun”, injured for at least two months, Ronald Koeman will therefore be able to count on his Dutch compatriot. The center-forward, who was a priority for ex-coach Oranje during this transfer window, has already made a name for himself in preseason friendlies. In four games, Memphis has scored three goals.
