The ambitious Japanese club Green Rockets Tokatsu are ready to break the bank to attract the Scottish opening half of Racing 92.

The rumor has not stopped swelling for 24 hours on the side of specialized sites in the United Kingdom and Japan.

Green Rockets club Tokatsu, who make no secret of their ambition to win Japan's all-new professional rugby league within three years, pulled out the checkbook in an attempt to convince Scotland's opening half and Racing 92 to join him.

Under contract with the Ile-de-France club (he extended last November, without the additional duration being specified), the fantastic Finn Russell, who landed in 2018, could therefore leave France and the Top 14 earlier than expected.

Australia's Michael Cheika, recently appointed director of rugby for the Green Rockets as their new director of rugby, has made his visit a priority.

And has the financial means to seduce him.

The club based in the city of Abiko is indeed ready to buy his contract from Racing 92 and offer him the biggest salary in the history of rugby.

The record is held by the South African from Montpellier Handré Pollard and the New Zealander playing for Bristol Charles Piutau who, in 2020, received an annual salary of 1.15 million euros.

Will he give up on the 2023 World Cup?

Selected 55 times for Scotland, and recently selected by the British Irish Lions, Finn Russel, 28, will have to make a crucial choice. If he leaves for Japan in 2022, he will indeed mortgage his chances of being selected to play the 2023 World Cup with Japan.
