With Toni Kroos, a DFB star has also announced his resignation from the national team.
Meanwhile, a talent once spurned by FC Bayern is already being hotly traded as the first flick debutant.

Accordingly, the new coach contacted the midfield strategist immediately after the EM and signaled that he was still planning with Gündogan.
The player himself is said to have taken some time to think it over.

A first small win for Flick, before he even sat on the bench as head coach for his first international match.
The reason for Gündogan's decision should also be the weak EM performance.
A resignation that, unsurprisingly, would not have pleased the professional.
And so the name Gündogan could also reappear on the list when Flick called the squad for his Läderspiel debuts in the World Cup qualifying against Liechtenstein (September 2), Armenia (September 5) and Iceland (September 8) on August 26 September) announces.
