Olympique Lyonnais announced on Thursday the arrival in the form of a loan of Italian full-back Emerson Palmieri (27), from Chelsea, for
"an amount of € 500,000, to which could be added bonuses of a maximum of € 500,000, with a match-up clause (priority purchase option) until the end of the transfer window in summer 2022 ”
, specifies the Rhone club. Brazilian by origin, Palmieria was then naturalized Italian in 2017. He was recently crowned twice European champion: with Chelsea in the Champions League, then at the Euro with the Nazionale. Despite his poor playing time throughout the season, Emerson Palmieri (19 caps) had still played in the semi-final and the final of the Euro. With Chelsea, he also won the European Supercup in 2021, the Europa League in 2019 and the FA Cup in 2018. He is OL's third recruit after defenders Damien Da Silva (Rennes) and Henrique Silva (Vasco da Gama) who arrived free in June.
