The eastern duel between the two second division promoted Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden has been overshadowed by riots by hostile fan groups.

As a spokeswoman for the Rostock police announced, several people had been arrested for a major operation before kick-off.

"Pyrotechnics and protective equipment such as denture guards and gloves" were found in controlled Dresden fans.

The heated atmosphere was also projected onto the game, with the 3-1 (1: 1) win of the Dresdeners there were tough duels again and again, and Rostock's Calogero Rizzuto had to leave the field injured after just twelve minutes.

At this point Dresden was already in the lead, and Heinz Mörschel had put his team in the lead in the first minute.

After the equalization by Streli Mamba (43rd) and yellow-red against Dresden's Michael Akoto (50th), the game seemed to tip over, especially since Dresden's captain and defense chief Tim Knipping apparently had to be replaced with a knee injury (17th).

Substitute Panagiotis Vlachodimos (63rd) and Julias Kade (70th) made the decision with a double strike.

The surprise team from Dresden established itself in the top group of the 2nd Bundesliga by winning.

With ten points, Dynamo is in second place as the undefeated newcomer.

Rostock's view goes down for the time being with four points from four games.
