Seven races of suspense and excitement were enough to raise the enthusiasm of speed equestrian enthusiasts to its highest levels in the seventh periodic race, which was held by the Syrian Association for Purebred Arabian Horses on the Damascus Racecourse in Dimas in cooperation with the Arabian Horse Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
The competition was strong in all runs, and the result was not separated until the last seconds. The first and second rounds took place for a distance of 1600 meters separately for the pure Syrian and Arab horses registered of the fourth degree, while the third and fourth periods were held for a distance of 1450 meters for the pure and registered third degree horses. As for the horses of the first and second classes She competed in the fifth and sixth sets for distances of 2200 metres, and the conclusion was held with the seventh set, open for the same distance.
The results of the seven rounds resulted in the victory of the horses, Achilles Al Sheikh, for its owner Rami Al Sheikh, Nasser Al Kharrat for Ahmed Al Kharrat, Qaqaa Gharib for Muhammad Hisham Ghareeb, Ahmed Al Habsha and the Persians, Magda Al Golan for Ali Al Tahan, Zelzal Al Zain for Muhammad Deeb Al Shaqi, Nasr Al Khair for Stables Al Khair, and the continuation of Al Wasl for Issam Al Takala.
The vice-chairman of the association’s board of directors, Dr. Tarek Abdel Rahim, said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative, “The horses have reached a good degree of readiness regularly, with their participation in the races held by the association annually and periodically, and new horses have entered the competition line. At the same time, new faces entered the equestrian world.
The director of the association, Muhammad Al-Wadi, explained that the race was held with the distinguished participation of 43 horses from different governorates, as we reached this race within the association’s calendar to a good stage in evaluating the level of Arab horses. And the strength of the horses participating in this race, which had strong competitions, especially in the seventh open race for the winning horses and the horses of the first and second classes.
The Secretary of the Society, Nassar Kahoul, drew attention to the increasing demand for breeding Arab horses, which symbolize our history and the expansion of the interest in racing by breeders, pointing to the association’s role in motivating breeders to continue breeding Arab horses through the establishment of these races, which have reached advanced levels. International races, hoping that breeders will receive more support to ease the burdens imposed by the breeding process.
