In the first Sunday game of the Bundesliga, TSG Hoffenheim and Union Berlin drew 2-2 (2-1).

First, Niko Gießelmann (10th minute) scored for Union Berlin, then Kevin Akpoguma (14th) and Jacob Bruun Larsen (30th) turned the game in favor of Hoffenheim with their goals.

Union attacker Taiwo Awoniyi equalized shortly after the break (47th).

With a win, TSG would have moved to the top of the table.

After the convincing 4-0 win over FC Augsburg on matchday one, Hoffenheim's coach Sebastian Hoeneß made no changes.

Among the guests there were several after the 4-0 first leg success in the new Conference League at Finnish representative Kuopio PS.

One of the new actors, Niko Gießelmann, met for the leadership.

His unplaced header let TSG keeper Oliver Baumann clap forward, the Berliner only had to insert in the second attempt (10th).

But Hoffenheim found the direct answer, and again a full-back was successful.

Akpoguma headed a cross from Angelo Stiller (14th).

Kruse hit the bar from 30 meters

Centimeters were missing for the renewed Berlin tour.

Max Kruse's free kick from almost 30 meters ricocheted off the crossbar, Baumann probably wouldn't have had a chance.

Andrej Kramaric's fourth assist of the season also deserves special recognition.

After a perfectly played through pass, Larsen cheated the ball past the falling Andreas Luthe to take the lead (30th).

Union seemed overwhelmed with the hosts' fast passing game, but instead of increasing, the equalizer fell shortly after the restart.

Kruse sent Awoniyi into the depths, who failed because of Baumann, but got a second opportunity because Akpoguma could not clarify.

Awoniyi completed a direct shot into the far corner (47th).

The game did not lose its high speed and chances to score: Kruse had the best for Union, but Baumann fended off quickly (61).

On the other side, Sebastian Rudy had a lot of space from 16 meters, but he put the ball far past the goal.

Union captain Marvin Friedrich saw just before the end of the game for a foul just before the penalty area yellow-red (90 + 4) and his team will be missing in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
