Still decisive during the victory of Montpellier against Lorient (3-1), this Sunday in Ligue 1, the pair Andy Delort - Gaëtan Laborde could well have shone for the last time at La Mosson.
According to information from L'Équipe, the two scorers are preparing to leave the MHSC, which is seeking to save money, all the more necessary since the health crisis.
Their replacement would also have already been found: the former Marseillais Valère Germain (31 years old).
The sine qua non for this arrival is the departure of Delort or Laborde, or even both. The first (29 years old, under contract until 2024) would have, according to L'Équipe, chosen to continue his career in Nice. The Algerian international has even already informed the leaders of Montpellier of his will. Laborde (27, under contract until 2023) would be the favored target of Sevilla FC and West Ham. The French club expects 15 million euros, but no offer has arrived yet.
In the meantime, an agreement in principle has already been concluded between the leaders of Montpellier and Valère Germain. The terms would be for a three-season contract. The former striker of Nice and Monaco, free since June 30, prepared himself this summer and his arrival would have been validated internally by the coach, Olivier Dall'Oglio. To submit to the financial difficulties of the Hérault club, Germain would have agreed to divide his salary (300,000 euros monthly at OM) by four to relaunch his career. Case to follow.
