FC Bayern: Joshua Kimmich extends early until 2025

As expected, FC Bayern Munich has extended the contract with international soccer player Joshua Kimmich by two years until 2025.

"The most important reason for my contract extension is that I can enjoy my passion here at FC Bayern every day," Kimmich is quoted in a club announcement.

In Munich he has a team "with whom I can achieve anything."

He does not see himself at the end of his development and is convinced that "a lot is possible at FC Bayern in the next few years," said Kimmich, who negotiated the contract himself without a consultant.

The 26-year-old midfielder moved from RB Leipzig to the German record champions in 2015 and has developed into a world-class and leading player there.

With the Munich team, Kimmich won the triple in 2020 and the German championship a total of six times.

It is expected that Kimmich's midfield partner Leon Goretzka will now also extend his contract, which will expire in 2022.

Negotiations with the 26-year-old midfielder are said to have been difficult so far.

Bayern want to prevent a second case of David Alaba, who moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer after the past season.
