This is the leitmotif of French Paralympic sport, which has been growing for years in the shadow of “valid” champions but which dreams of finding its own light.
In Rio, five years ago, television audiences - around 13.5 million viewers in France and more than 4 billion worldwide - had shown that a (very) beautiful exhibition was possible, fifteen days after the Olympic Games.
The only concern is that if more and more people are interested in the exploits of disabled athletes, very few are able to spontaneously name a few champions.
