Shaqiri moves to Ligue 1
Former Bayern professional Xherdan Shaqiri is leaving Liverpool FC and moving to the French soccer league.
As the English club of coach Jürgen Klopp and Olympique Lyon announced, the Swiss international signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2024 at the fourth place in the championship last year.
According to Lyon, the transfer fee is six million euros plus a maximum of five million euros in bonus payments.
The 29-year-old Shaqiri had won the Champions League with both FC Bayern Munich 2013 and Liverpool 2019.
With the Reds, he hadn't gotten beyond a role as a Joker.
In Lyon he meets the former BVB and Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz.
Bozdogan and Mascarell are leaving Schalke
Second division Schalke 04 have released their midfielder Can Bozdoğan for transfer talks with another club.
The Bundesliga relegated announced this via Twitter.
Bozdoğan, 20, has not played a role for coach Dimitrios Grammozis this season, once he played for the second team in the Regionalliga West.
Allegedly, the Austrian record champions Rapid Vienna were recently interested in a commitment.
It was only on Monday that the economically stricken Schalke team deleted a high earner from their payroll.
The Spaniard Omar Mascarell is moving to his home country for FC Elche.
