Milwaukee Bucks fans celebrate winning NBA Championship (Reuters)
The Milwaukee Bucks' championship removed quite a few question marks from Yannis Antokompo, but also took a monkey off his back to Mike Bodenholzer - who has been considered an excellent regular season coach for years, but has been known to repeatedly fail in money time.
This morning (Wednesday) the new NBA champion received further proof of the appreciation he has for him, when the Bucks signed him to a new three-year contract.
The 52-year-old coach was due to enter his final year on the contract this season, but after agreeing on a new contract he tied his future with the team until the end of the 2024/25 season.
"It's hard to put into words the appreciation I have for the Bucks," Bodenholzer said in response to the new contract.
"We have the best players there are, and I feel grateful. We've grown together over the last three years, and I can't wait to start the journey toward another NBA win."

Bodenholzer, the league's regular season coach twice in his career, stands on a balance of 172 wins and 65 losses with Milwaukee in the regular season.
In the playoffs he stands at 31 wins versus 17 losses.
"Bud is a fantastic coach and a great partner," said general manager John Horst.
"We are very pleased with his leadership and look forward to further successes in the years to come."
