In 40 days, Hapoel Jerusalem will officially open the 2021/22 season, and tonight (Wednesday) the third foreigner signed - and in a high profile, literally: chin Thon Maker (24, 2.13), selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in tenth place in the 2016 draft.



Miker, born South Sudan, appeared in the past five years in the NBA, until he was cut last January from Cleveland and moved to the Development League.

He averaged 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes in the Milwaukee, Detroit and Cavaliers uniforms, hitting 32.7 percent for three.

He is also a member of the Australian national team.

"We are very happy that we were able to bring a quality and diverse player like Thun here," said coach Oren Amiel.

"Beyond an exceptional personality and high offensive potential, he is also a supreme defensive player who will provide us with an air umbrella in color. This is a player who is very suited to the basketball we want to play this season, and I am convinced we will all enjoy it and help us achieve our goals."



Currently, the Reds' senior staff includes foreign guards Retin Obsuhan and Jaylen Adams and Israelis Adam Ariel, Willy Workman, Itai Segev, Amit Gershon and Yuval Schneiderman.
