Three signings in four hours - this was Hapoel Jerusalem's impressive vintage last night (Wednesday), after long weeks of procrastination in building the staff.
Thun Macker, Sean Kilpatrick and Anthony Bennett are familiar names to fans of the industry, largely due to their past in the NBA.
But Macker is also known for another story from the past that raises questions to this day - is he really 24, or is his real age actually close to 30?
Makar, who was born in South Sudan to a family from the Dinka tribe, fled with his parents, brothers and uncles from the country's civil war.
The family first settled in Uganda, then emigrated to Australia.
Macker was 5 when he arrived in Australia, where a new horizon opened up for him.
He made his first steps in a ball game as a footballer, until at the age of 14 he was discovered by an African-American citizen who advised him to make a conversion to basketball due to his height.
Maker quickly and appreciatively bridged the gaps and demonstrated great talent, which helped him join the Ontario Basketball Academy in 2014 and move to Canada.
In the years that followed, Macker became a household name in the mouths of NBA scouts and executives.
The hype was so great that comparisons to Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett were attached to it.

But as the draft got closer, rumors grew: on suspicion, Macker was admitted to the academy in Ontario with fake credentials, when in fact he was four or almost six years older than he presented himself. What fueled the rumors was a class photo uploaded to the network, in which Maker is portrayed as graduating from high school in Australia in 2010.
Even if the rumors had no real basis and even when it turned out that the "class photo" was not taken when he finished high school but was taken from an English course he studied, the conspiracy . According to Sports Illustrated, these suspicions even caused many teams in the NBA to give up picking Macer in the first round of the draft, although it is clear that in terms of natural data he belonged there. On the eve of the draft, he was to be relegated to the second round. Luckily, Milwaukee, who had previously nurtured another mysterious talent this season named Yannis Antocompo, decided to put the rumors aside and pick him in the tenth pick.

Macker went on to spend three seasons at Milwaukee, moving to Detroit and Cleveland and (so far) finishing his NBA career averaging 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 263 regular season games in the best league in the world, but from time to time still questions about his true age still arise.
Only last year was it required to be addressed once again in an interview with the Australian media, admitting that "I'm pretty tired of hearing it and responding to it. I said it then and I say it now - there is no basis for these rumors. If it were true, they probably would not have voted "In the draft. Of course it's not true, so I feel very comfortable with myself."
