The Bundesliga soccer clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt received tough group opponents in the draw for the group stage in the Europa League.
Bayer will face Celtic Glasgow, Betis Sevilla and Ferencvaros Budapest with coach Peter Stöger.
Eintracht Frankfurt has to deal with Olympiacos Piraeus, Fenerbahce with world champion Mesut Özil and the Belgian representative Royal Antwerp.
The group game days will take place on September 16 and 30, October 21, November 4 and 25 and December 9.
The group winners advance to the round of 16, the runners-up reach the knockout phase, where they fight against the third-placed teams in the Champions League for a place in the round of 16.
The group thirds play in the knockout phase of the Europa Conference League, where they play against the runners-up in the Europa Conference League for a place in the round of 16.
