Trial Absov Israeli MMA fighter (Trial Absov's Facebook page)

Until the age of 17, Trial Absov did not know how to fight at all;

Do not punch, do not kick and certainly do not subdue an opponent on the ground.

Until something bothered him.

Or rather someone.

When he was 17, an age when MMA fighters were already starting to take shape and get direction, Trial chose to enter the world of martial arts, for a slightly different reason: he decided to put an end to the harassment and teasing that came from a boy his age who grew up with him in the neighborhood.

"As a teenager, I had a conflict with another boy," Absov recalled.

"I remember he practiced regularly and in general he was a very big guy. I really wanted to hit him, but I told myself that if I quarreled with him, I would not really have a chance because I do not know how to fight, so I went to some Thai boxing institute in Rishon Lezion and that's where it all started." .

"Although I started with Thai boxing, I left very quickly and switched between different institutes of martial arts," he says.

"I did some wrestling, some boxing and then I found the institute of Sambo Coach Pavel Musin. I fell in love, signed up and slowly started learning the basics and later also competing professionally."

Even before the army, Trial fought professional battles in the Sambo Combat, and very quickly realized that he had found his destiny.

He won, won and won again, until this year he recorded his record achievement in the industry: first place and a gold medal at the European Championships.

"Although I was in a combat unit in the army, I would not stop training, at any given moment - on a weekend when I returned home, during breaks. When I was released, I decided to go for the whole box office and since then it has been my daily routine."

“At 21, I realized I wanted to be an MMA fighter, that I wanted to get as far as the UFC,” he adds.

"But I realized that in order to make the dream come true I had to improve in all parameters, so I started going to different coaches and improving all aspects to become a more complete warrior."

He also reached the UFC through Sambo.

Quite a few MMA fighters are looking for the path to the biggest stage of them all - the UFC of course, but the road there is not easy at all.

"I realized that the best way for me to get there is through the sambo world - Fedor Amlyanenko, Habib Normgomedov, Islam Makhachev - everyone came from sambo, and that's also the way I want to do. Of course it's not enough and there are other things that need to be improved, because most of the background "My competitive comes from jiu jitsu, wrestling and other grappling industries. I would like to gain more arena time in the striking industries as well - just stand in the arena and go beating people."

Trial is currently on the line between Israel and Russia, where he managed to train for three months at the Habib Institute.

No matter where he is - whether in Israel or Russia - he makes sure to maintain an uncompromising training routine, which includes six training days a week, sometimes even two training sessions a day.

"Last May I officially became the European Sambo Champion," he notes.

"This coming November there will be a world championship and I intend to compete there. After that I will do some kind of track recalculation. My goal of course is to be the world champion in sambo, but I also want to continue the MMA dream."

Already holds a 0: 3 balance.

If you ask an MMA fighter who is in the beginning / middle of his career what his biggest dream is, a large portion will say he just wants to get to the UFC. Others will declare that they dream of winning the championship belt of the largest organization of all. But a trial? He has other, much bigger dreams. "My goal is to be the best fighter in history. There are a lot of champions in the UFC and I do not want to be another one of them, but the greatest of them all. You have to understand, this is not a sport that flows into it, that you go into it and say 'well, let's see what happens.' "MMA you have to invest your whole being, manage the risks properly and want it with all your might, otherwise it will not work. It's just not a sport for mediocre people."

"Where will I be in five years from today? I believe in a fight to defend my title in the UFC," Absov admitted.

"But there is still a lot of work to do until I get there. Although I have a 0: 3 balance as a professional, there are still a lot of fights on the way. I can get to the UFC from there, too. "

"I watch a lot of fights," Trial concludes.

"The truth? 24/7 that I watch fights. For me it's like homework. Watching a fight is my job. I learn new tactics, techniques, surgeon and by and large learn a lot from watching fights. Even when I was injured I would come to the institute to see people training."

"5 years from now? Protect my belt in the UFC."

About a week ago, Trial won his third professional battle, this time by suffocation in Eagle FC - Habib's league.

He raised his tally to an impressive 0-3 and now hopes to win two or three more fights, to gain some more attention that might pave the way for him to the UFC.
