Starting the season with two wins from two games each, Liverpool and Chelsea have left their first points in the new Premier League season. In the top game, the teams of the German coaches Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel separated 1: 1 (1: 1). The German international Kai Havertz gave Chelsea, the reigning Champions League winner, the lead (22nd minute). Before the break, Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool with a penalty (45 + 5).

Chelsea left the ball to Liverpool for the most part, only started up in the situation. Liverpool came to conclusions like Harvey Elliott (4th) or Jordan Henderson (10th), but the goal was made by Chelsea: Reece James brought in a corner from the left, at the first post Havertz headed the ball in a technically demanding manner high arch into the long corner (22nd). Chelsea had more chances, Mason Mount missed the best from an acute angle (35th). That should be the doom of the Londoners.

Because after a corner, this time on the other half, Liverpool's Joel Matip failed with his head on the crossbar.

Then James saved on the line against Sadio Mané and then against Diogo Jota.

In the wild action, however, the ball bounced from the thigh to the arm of the Chelsea defender, there were penalties and red. Salah converted (45th + 5).

Outnumbered, Chelsea limited themselves to defending in the second half, brought in Thiago Silva as a central defender for the strong Havertz and almost completely stopped their offensive efforts.

The low five-man chain gave Liverpool repeated opportunities for long-range shots, but Virgil van Dijk (52nd, 59th), Henderson (58th) and Fabinho (59th) couldn't get past Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

So Chelsea earned a point.
