Le Figaro: What does this silver medal represent for you?
Vincent Poirier
: A lot ... It's a source of pride.
It had only been done once in the history of the France team (male, in 2000).
There, we do it again, with a final against the United States.
We are obviously a little disappointed, we were aiming for gold.
But for French basketball, it made a lot of people vibrate.
I had a lot of feedback from people who got up at 4:30 am to watch the final ... It's nice.
It is hoped that the next competitions, especially the Games in 2024, will end with gold.

Does the finale leave you with any regrets?
Yes.
Especially since we had beaten this American team in the first group game ... In the final, we lost five points (82-87).
There were avoidable mistakes.
But it's a big team, we know, with big players.
It leaves a little bitter taste in your mouth not to have managed to win the gold, but we are proud of what we have accomplished.
