Maccabi Netanya hopes to close during the day (Sunday) the issue of Eden Kartzev, who is due to join the team from Maccabi Tel Aviv, as part of the sale of the midfielder Gabi Knikowski.

According to the outline of the deal agreed on Friday, Netanya will receive half a million euros, Kartsev on transfer and Parfa Gagon on loan for one season with an initial option for another season and without a purchase option.

Kanikovsky was not included in Netanya's squad last night against Hapoel Haifa, when between the two clubs, things have already been agreed and closed.

What delayed the official signing over the weekend, is the fact that Kartzev has not yet given his final consent to the move. The contact initially expressed a willingness to come in a conversation with Netanya coach Raymond Atfeld who made it clear that he really wants to see him on his team, but over the weekend Kartzev took a step back and refused to give the green light to the move for good. Kartsev, who holds a contract for the upcoming season at Maccabi Tel Aviv, recently refused to extend his contract with his current team, in order to be free at the end of the upcoming season and try his luck abroad.

As part of the Kanikovsky deal, the trophy holder agreed to accept Netanya's offer and transfer Kartzev to its ranks, and now the owner's club, Eyal Segal, will try to find the formula to close the contract details for the upcoming season.

One of the options is to include a relatively low exit clause in his contract, which will allow him to leave Netanya abroad if a proper offer arrives. Netanya has another player, instead of Kartsev and in addition to Parfa Gagon, who will be on loan.

Last night, Netanya opened the league games with a disappointing and anemic 0: 0 against Hapoel Haifa. The club expressed great disappointment at the result and also at the ability presented by the players. In the next round, which will take place after the national team break, Netanya will host the newcomer Hapoel Nof Hagalil and the one who is supposed to return to the squad is goalkeeper Danny Amos, who ran a suspension last night and did not play.

"We did not start the season as we expected. I think we had the opportunity to take the game, but for that we need to make better use of the opportunities we had for the conquest," coach Raymond Atfeld said at the end of the game. "The encouraging thing is that we kept a clean sheet for a second game in a row, and when you take a point in an away game, it's not that bad, although I definitely think we deserved more."

Atfeld referred to the fact that on Friday he was forced to remove Gabi Kanikovsky from the squad due to the move to Maccabi Tel Aviv and said: "Not easy, but it's football. We will have a team break and we will have the time to get the new players involved and get better for the next game."

"We really wanted to win," added captain Almog Cohen, "it is very disappointing and we expected ourselves to win this game. We are disappointed and we want to play much better, we also want to win every game, like in the last games. ".
