No new coronation for the French delegation this Sunday at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. But the Blues have garnered seven new m

The French are polishing their tan in Tokyo.

In a single day, the fifth of these Paralympic Games in Japan, the French delegation accumulated seven new medals, six of which were bronze.

In the medal table, the Blues are in 15th position, with 26 medals, for three titles.

Matéo Bohéas stands out

Bonus for the best result of the day: the silver medal of Matéo Bohéas in para table tennis.

At 24, the Angevin played his first Paralympic final in class 10 (he plays with a blocked ankle and atrophied calf).

Unfortunately, the French lost it in three sets against the Polish Patryk Chojnowski (11-8, 11-5, 12-10).

😢🇫🇷 Matéo Bohéas could not resist the power of world number 1 Patryk Chojnowski.

We will nevertheless remember his enormous career, to bring the sixth medal (already) in French para table tennis.

And to think that Fabien Lamirault (in a wheelchair) still has to play his final ... The table tennis players will be real spearheads for Paris 2024.

Rowing doubles the bet

Two bronze medals for the same discipline: para rowing.

Nathalie Benoit brought the Blues their first charm of the day, in the PR1 W1X category (she uses her arms, not her legs).

In the process, a team of 5 athletes followed suit: Margot Boulet - Erika Sauzeau - Antoine Jesel - Rémy Taranto - Robin Le Barreau in para rowing PR3 MIX4 + (four mixed barrage).

And 21 for the Blues!

🥉🇫🇷

The French para rowing boat won a 21st medal, the twelfth bronze in the French delegation by finishing 3rd in the final of the 4 with a mixed coxswain.

Weightlifting, judo, athletics, fencing ... a varied record

In the women's para bench press, under 73 kg category, Souhad Ghazouani continues to write history.

The Frenchwoman secured a fifth Paralympic medal, lifting 132 kg.

In men's judo, under 90 kg category, Hélios Latchoumanaya also finished third, like Trésor Makunda and Lucas Mathonat (his guide) in para athletics 400m T11.

Finally, the Damien Tokatlian - Maxime Valet - Romain Noble team snatched the bronze in the team chair foil).

Souhad Ghazouani lifts 132kg and wins bronze!

💪🇫🇷

For her last test of the bench press in -73kg PWL, the Frenchwoman lifts 132kg.

She adds a fifth Paralympic medal to her record!
