Amman-Sana

The Syrian Olympic football team begins its training camp in Jordan today and will continue until the eighth of this month, as part of its preparations to participate in the qualifiers for the U-23 Asian Cup scheduled in the Uzbek capital Tashkent next year.

Our national team coach, Raafat Muhammad, announced a list of 21 players for this camp, which is scheduled to witness a friendly meeting with the Jordanian national team, in addition to a list of ten expatriate players: Abdullah Mahawesh and Muhammad Al-Olayan from Kuwait, Ammar Manaf Ramadan from Hungary, Fahd Al-Shalash from Turkey, Ashti Osu from Germany and Mustafa Benchi and Oliver Casco from Sweden, Peter Elia from the Netherlands, Ahmed Osman from New Zealand and Marcelo Hafez from Brazil.

The qualifiers were drawn for our team in Group A along with Qatar, Yemen and Sri Lanka, whose matches will be held in Doha in a single-stage grouping system between the 23rd and 30th of next October.

According to the qualifying system, the 11 group winners, in addition to the four best second-placed teams, in addition to host Uzbekistan, qualify.

Our national team held a training camp in Lebanon last July, during which it met its Lebanese counterpart in two friendly matches, tied in the first with two goals to the same and won in the second by three goals to one.
