Unterföhring - With the fifth victory in a row, the footballers of FC Unterföhring are now at the top of the table of the Landesliga Südost.
The FCU celebrated a work victory at FC Töging 1-0 (0-0) and benefited from the fact that some games had to be canceled in the English week.
Especially in the first half, FC Unterföhring had some problems with their superior opponents.
Töging had a handful of really good chances.
Mesic had the best chance, standing free five meters in front of the goal and slipping away when slapstick instead of shooting the almost safe goal.
After ten minutes, the Tögingen attacker was already in the lead.
"We couldn't have complained if we had fallen behind at the break," said Unterföhring's sporting director Zivan Zivanovic later.
His team was not only under a lot of pressure, they hardly made any progress at all. Unterföhring only had one really good attack, which should have scored the goal. After good preparatory work by Bastian Fischer, Maxi Siebald had half the gate open and just missed the target. The tour at this point would have been a bit too much of a good thing.
This season, FC Unterföhring is characterized by the fact that you can compensate for losses with the broadest squad in the league and change the character of the game with weapons from the bench. This time Robin Volland was the "game changer" who changed everything. He came to the break with the requirement to strengthen the offensive that was practically non-existent until then. And the classic center forward Volland was also the person with whom the Töginger couldn't really get along. Somehow Volland was the logical winner. He was on the field for just eight minutes when Volland nodded off a cross from Andreas Faber.
Töging had almost an entire half left, but the game was practically over.
The defensively more and more stable Unterföhringer strengthened the bulwark with Michael Eder and immediately had a substitute who gave the game a positive turn.
Unterföhring controlled the action and allowed only one shot on goal by the opponent in the entire second half.
The FCU was much closer to the second goal with a free kick from Andi Faber on the post (82nd).
