Marcel Sabitzer has played for a club in the past few years that he didn't even know when he was seven.

The 27-year-old has always been a Bayern fan and repeatedly emphasized that he wore the FCB jersey as a child.
Now the new addition of the red company provides the proof - and shares a picture of himself next to the Christmas tree at home.

The picture was marked with a heart around 400,000 times (as of September 1, 2021) on the Instagram accounts of Sabitzer and FC Bayern alone, and followers from all over the world were happy about the post.
Sabitzer wrote: "A few years ago ... a happy little child."

Football nostalgics think of one player when thinking of this jersey: Michael Ballack. The Munich team wore the dark red jersey in the 2002/03 season, it was the midfield star's first season on the Isar. It is not known whether Sabitzer might even have the number 13 on his back. Perhaps he also wore Hasan Salihamidzic's 20, who was also active for the record champions at the time - and 19 years later was to guide Sabitzer to his dream club.
Sabitzer fits the new Bayern course: experienced Bundesliga, German-speaking and above all: identification with the club.
Salihamidzic and CEO Oliver Kahn want to rely more on these values in the future.
One thing is clear: FC Bayern Munich * cannot keep up with the salaries paid by the newly rich “bed linen” clubs.
