German biathlon star shows unusual "company car" - but the most important utensil does not fit in

A German biathlete caused a sensation on Instagram with his new car, but he will hardly be able to transport his skis in his "company car".

Titisee-Neustadt - As in every late summer, the German Biathlon Championship will be held this year.

At the Großer Arbersee in the Bavarian Forest, the German elite will meet between September 9th and 12th for a test of strength. In addition to greats like Erik Lesser, Denise Herrmann and Franziska Preuß, Benedikt Doll will also take part in the race.

The 31-year-old winter sportsman was recently noticed by an unusual vehicle on social media.

"My new company car" was the description under the new post from the biathlete who presented his new car on Instagram.

Unlike other athletes, however, it wasn't an expensive sports or off-road vehicle, but an unusual model: the BMW Isetta.

With the 2.28-meter-short oldie, which was manufactured by BMW between 1955 and 1962, Doll will not be able to travel all year round.

"In winter it just gets a little cold when I have to transport skis," he wrote and posted a picture.

In fact, the skis do not fit in any position in the compressed trunk, which the two-time Olympic bronze winner made clear in the article.

Biathlon: Benedikt Doll starts at the German Championships in the Bavarian Forest - spectators allowed again

Whether the native Titisee-Neustadt will cover more than 500 kilometers from home to the Bavarian-Czech border with the collector's model is questionable in view of the capacities. The first training session is scheduled for Thursday, September 9th, and the men and women will start their individual runs on Friday. Benedikt Doll's biathletes will have a busy schedule after the German championship. Before the races in the winter months, there is a roller-ski race at the most visited lake in the Bavarian Forest, given the weather. As last two years ago, spectators will be able to create a good mood, and advance sales for the competitions have already started.
