In Erding the ice age begins - finally - again.

It starts with a three-day tournament.

Erding - The Erding Gladiators go straight to the limit at the beginning of the test game phase.

To kick off the preparations, the autumn cup will take place on three days in the local Stadtwerke Arena from today, in which the hosts of EV Moosburg, local rivals ESC Dorfen and Wanderers Germering will take part.

“The first two weeks of training went very well,” enthuses Gladiators trainer Thomas Vogl. “We also pulled all U20 players up completely so that the boys can see how things are going with the men.” From now on, only the so-called “perspective players” would be firmly in the squad, namely Christoph Furtner and Maxi Knallinger , Luke Kuka, Lucas Lehner, Erik Modlmayr and goalkeeper Patrick Mayer.

"All in all, we got a lot of talent in the team with our newcomers," Vogl describes his first impressions. For example, Timo Borrmann, who is currently on vacation, was “very, very strong” in the first week. Lukas Miculka was still absent in the first week because of his vacation and only got fully on last Monday: “With him you can see after a few training sessions how good he is.” About Sebastian Busch and Michael Trox “We don't need to go talk". His conclusion after the first two weeks of training: “It's fun to train this team.” What he particularly likes: “Everyone pulls along well, whether it's the weight room or athletic training - and the older ones take care of the youngsters. That is almost professional. "

On Wednesday evening there was a very special training session on the program - an internal "snack game".

Each team, already wearing the new jerseys, had two complete blocks, the three goalkeepers changed through.

“They wanted Roman names to refer to the gladiators,” says Vogl.

And so the team Maximus, in the white jerseys, played against the black team Olympikus.

"The good training impression was confirmed," reports the gladiators coach.

“The disc went well and there was a lot of speed in it.” The almost hour-long game in which the time ran through ended 3: 3.

“We then continued to play five against five, and the Maximus team then scored the golden goal,” says Vogl.

So the Olympikus team had to pay for the snack for everyone that was already served in the cabin.

And now the tournament for the Autumn Cup is on the program (see the schedule below), which starts tonight.

"It comes at the perfect time," says Vogl happily and announces: "We will play in all three matches with four rows, the perspective players will get their chance, and each of our three goalkeepers will get a game."

As for the point round, which begins for the Gladiators on October 2nd, Erdings gang boss announces that he will play mainly with three rows, "but depending on the score, the fourth row will also be used".

When asked whether the occupation of his three blocks has already been determined, Vogl says: "I have two variants in my head, and I will try both of them."
