Prosthetic sprinter Johannes Floors celebrated his first individual Paralympic victory in Tokyo.
The 26-year-old won his first individual gold in 45.85 seconds on his parade route over 400 meters and thus celebrated his second medal in Japan after bronze over 100 meters.
Floors crossed the finish line in the T62 starting class with a lead of more than two seconds and only missed the fastest time ever on prostheses on the stadium lap of Oskar Pistorius, who is in prison for killing his girlfriend, by just 78 hundredths.
Floors had already won gold with the denture relay over 4x100 meters in Rio in 2016.
Bensusan brings silver again
Irmgard Bensusan just missed her first Paralympic victory.
The 30-year-old, who has nerve damage in her right lower leg, finished second behind Marlene van Gansewinkel over the 100 meters and twice as much in the T64 starting class.
With a time of 12.89 seconds, she was eleven hundredths slower than the victorious Dutch woman.
It was the fifth silver medal for Bensusan, and she had already finished second three times in Rio.
Lacin ensures the third athletics medal
The thigh amputee sprinter Ali Lacin won the bronze medal at the Paralympics over 200 meters.
The bilateral prosthesis runner finished third in 24.64 seconds and won the first medal on his Paralympics debut.
Gold went to South African Ntando Mahlangu (23.59) ahead of British Richard Whitehead (23.99).
For German athletics it was the third precious metal within a few minutes.
Schott third for the third time
Swimmer Verena Schott has enlarged her collection of bronze medals.
The 32-year-old hit the back over 100 meters in a time of 1: 21.16 minutes in third place and was delighted with her third bronze medal in the Japanese capital.
Before that, she had also swum in third place in the 200 meter medley and 100 meter chest.
The winner was Elizabeth Marks (1: 19.57) from the USA ahead of the Chinese Yuyan Jiang (1: 20.65).
Hiltrop missed a second gold in the final shot
Sports shooter Natascha Hiltrop just missed her second gold medal.
The winner with the air rifle made a mistake in the three-position fight with the small caliber with the last shot and slipped behind Rio winner Zhang Cuiping from China despite a 0.8 ring lead.
With silver, the incompletely paraplegic athlete won the second medal of the German sport shooters in Japan.
Her victory with the air rifle on Wednesday was the first gold for the German para sport shooters since Athens 2004.
