Al-Jaish Club player Azhar Al-Zeibaq won the Republic Championship for billiards (8 balls), which was held at the Federation of Chess Hall in Al-Fayhaa.
Al-Zaybak was able to win the championship title after his victory in the 16th round over Mahmoud Tawila and in the quarter-finals over Bassem Abboud, followed by a victory over Youssef Badawi in the semi-finals to reach the final and defeating Hassan Greikh.
The Republic Billiards Championship (9 balls) for the junior category was won by Wissam Al-Dakak, followed by Abdullah Al-Sousi, then Ali Zeno and Ali Khabbaz, third place.
Al-Zaybak, in a statement to SANA, said: The competition was strong in the tournament with the participation of 42 players representing 14 governorates and authorities, indicating that he prepared well for the tournament and focused in all its roles, which helped him win the title, explaining at the same time that he will continue his preparations and daily training to be ready for any local merit. or external.
It is noteworthy that Azhar al-Zaibaq, born in Damascus in 1987, played football, swimming and jogging, in addition to his main game of billiards and snooker.
