Maccabi Tel Aviv were supposed to go up today (Saturday) for the first warm-up game in the warm-up tournament in Greece against Lavrio, but instead the team is in Israel with five players and one team member in isolation after being found positive in the Corona test.

The team tests the players every day to stop the spread of the virus inside the locker room, and the hope is that after 24 hours without new infections, there is a chance that the current wave within the Yellows is over.

Maccabi will return to full training only next weekend, after all the players have left the isolation, and the desire is to go to the Yanakopoulos tournament in Greece, which is planned for another week and a half.

In the meantime, the team has scheduled preparation games against Bnei Herzliya and Hapoel Eilat to try and cover the gap created by the adhesions.

"If the preparation period was supposed to be pre-arranged because you have to put together an almost completely new team, now it's becoming very complicated," said one of the team members yesterday. "Hopes from this staff, we hope that what happened will not ruin our entire season opener."
