The Syrian men's national football team will meet its UAE counterpart next Tuesday at Qweismeh Stadium in Jordan in its second match of the decisive round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to the Football Association, the AFC responded to its request to hold our team’s match at Qweismeh Stadium in the presence of a crowd of thirty percent of the stadium’s capacity, according to the precautionary measures to confront the Corona pandemic.
Our team lost to its Iranian counterpart 1-0 in the match that brought them together at Azadi Stadium in Tehran in the opening of the decisive round of the qualifiers.
The coach of the national team, Nizar Mahrous, said: “We did not deserve to lose against Iran, and the match was closer to a draw and we missed dangerous opportunities to score. We are looking forward to moving forward and thinking now is limited to the next match against the UAE team.”
Our team will return to complete its matches in the decisive role on the seventh of next month, where it will meet the South Korean team, then face the Lebanon team on the twelfth of the same month, and conclude the first trip in this role against the Iraqi team on the eleventh of next November, which will be the sixteenth of it as a date for the return trip. Which ends on the twenty-ninth of next March.
