With the participation of 360 male and female players representing 32 clubs from different governorates, the Republic Taekwondo Championship for age groups for the red and black belts was concluded at the Police Club Hall in Damascus.
Central Police won first place in the overall standings of the championship with 16 gold, 13 silver and 7 bronze, followed by Ram Al-Anz Club with 9 gold and 6 bronze, then Al-Harjala with 8 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze, then Al-Arabi with 5 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze, Al-Karama fifth with 4 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze .
Head of the Taekwondo Federation Sherif Derki said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative that the tournament was held with a large participation of club players from different governorates and witnessed strong competitions due to the participation of national team players in the age groups. optimally.
Derki added that the arbitration in the tournament was carried out according to the electronic system approved by the World Federation of the Game, and thus the tournament was free of arbitration errors, pointing out that the Federation will hold the men's and women's club championship on the twenty-fifth of this month in Latakia for the red and black belts.
During the tournament, Homs clubs managed to win 30 medals, ranging between gold, silver and bronze in various categories, after their players presented impressive skill levels. Fourth in the general arrangement and first place in the order in the cub category and the first in the young women category, after intensive training prior to the tournament, which indicates the development of the reality of the game in the governorate and its wide spread.
