Ex-world champion Mario Götze has extended his contract with the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven until 2024.
The club announced on Monday.
His original contract would have expired in 2022.
The former Bundesliga professional moved to the honor division in 2020 after his contract in Dortmund expired.
The 29-year-old has since appeared in 35 games in Eindhoven, scoring ten goals and providing ten assists.
Most recently, however, he missed entry into the Champions League with PSV.
"I am happy with what I found here," Götze was quoted in the association's announcement.
"The story goes on.
We still have some tasks to do, «wrote Götze on Twitter.
In addition to the midfielder, his compatriot Philipp Max also plays for Eindhoven.
The team is being trained by former Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt.
