Gaißach - "I think it's great that SC Gaißach pulled it off", were the appreciative words of Alfred Barth, chairman of the Raiffeisen-Oberland-Challenge (ROC), "even if it will definitely be a loss." Only 65 participants had conquered the Lehener Berg at the 42nd Gaißacher Berglauf on Saturday.

The quantity is missing, not the quality
Since the total number of registrants for this “Challenge light 2021” is missing, the two organizers feared an even lower number of starters.
Even if the quantity was a little lacking this year, the quality on the track was definitely there. In the end, the winner of the day Daniel Götz had a lead of around one and a half minutes over the runner-up Waakirchner Maxi Tent (SLV Tegernsee) when he crossed the finish line at the Schwaiger-Alm in 20: 40.29 minutes. There was also a clear start-finish victory in the women’s category thanks to Thea Heim (LG Telisfinanz Regensburg) from Saxony, who started the time measurement after 24: 49.72 minutes. At the Alm she even had a lead of almost two and a half minutes over the runner-up Susanne Bielmeier (LC Tölzer Land), who became known in the local running scene under her maiden name Feigl. Of course, Heim's time was still far from the track record of 24:04 minutes that Heidi Danner had set in 1992.
Strong applause at the Schwaiger Alm
But everyone was happy who had made the 4.5 kilometer route with a difference in altitude of 480 meters in bright sunshine.

So also Marianne Kirchmayer (LG Sempt) and Otmar Nejtek (SC Moosham), built in 1942, the two oldest participants in this year's Gaißacher Berglauf.
One of the special features of this event is that the fastest “Goaßara” are also honored with a challenge trophy. Above all, Regina Rauchberger (formerly Danner), who had succeeded in doing the feat again and again, shone here. She was able to pick up the hand-carved chamois for the seventh time at the awards ceremony. “We don't even want to talk about my time. I'm glad I got up there at all, ”snorts the mother of three. “I hardly have any time left to train properly. This year I only ran up here for the fourth time. ”Toni Seewald was much more delighted, who had become the fastest Goassara for the first time and was thus able to celebrate his Capricorn premiere. The twelfth place took a time of 24:22 minutes when he gasped and reached the finish.Arzbacher Tom Scheifl (LC Tölzer Land) was also extremely satisfied and beamed: “Up here in under 24 minutes, that's great for me. It probably paid off that I was only in the mountains this year.
It turns out to be pointless to stick with Daniel Götz
Toni Lautenbacher from Benediktbeur tried to keep up with Götz for only two minutes: “Then I was excited that it didn't make sense for me.” Nevertheless, he found his time of 22:35 minutes to be okay: “With my few Training among the top three, that fits. ”All in all, the most important thing for the former member of the German national ski mountaineering team was that everyone finally got together again.
